    01/04/2019

    Dear/ members of the Chamber

Asharqia Chamber presents you with its best greetings, and would like to inform you of the letter of the Council of Saudi Chambers (SG / 1769) dated 14/7/1440, which referred to the letter of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority No. (53471 / p) dated (13/7/1440) that referred to the Authority's efforts to monitor and follow-up the safety of locally marketed cosmetic products based on the cosmetic products issued by Royal Decree No. (49) dated 18/6/1436.

Therefore, samples of perfume products traded in local markets were collected and analyzed in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Investment to ensure their safety.

The results of the analysis showed that the Cologen FALCON 555 contains a high proportion of methanol that exceeded the limit, as in the Safety and Personal Care Safety Regulations No. GSO1943: 2016 / SFDA CO that the exposure to high methanol may cause health risks to the consumer.

Therefore, the SFDA hopes that all establishments engaged in the activity of the spreading of cosmetic products will not sell this product as described in its data and return it to its suppliers, and the importers and distributors of this product withdrawn from the outlets and warehouses and coordination with the Authority to destroy it to avoid sanctions against them.
